ULD HUB Privacy Policy

This policy describes the data acquired by the Descartes ULD HUB application and how this data is disseminated, protected, and shared. It should be read as an addendum to the Descartes Privacy Policy available at https://www.descartes.com/privacy-center.

Descartes ULD HUB application

The application provides customers with the ability to detect Descartes proprietary Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) tags in locations that are outside of Descartes existing Bluetooth network infrastructure. Data from Descartes BLE tags can be used by customers to analyze and monitor the location and health of important business assets and shipments.

The customer uses the application initiate a scanning session to detect BLE tags and stops the scanning session at their convenience. Once a scan is started, the application can run in the background so the customer can access other business applications without interference.

The application collects and stores the mobile device location throughout a scanning session. The BLE Tag detections acquired by the application is geo-tagged with the device location to allow the customer to view and analyze the data within cloud services.

Geo-tagged BLE Tag Detections

• are displayed to the mobile device user and uploaded to Descartes cloud services.
• are not stored on the mobile device
• are disseminated by Descartes cloud services for analysis by the customer. Data is not disclosed to any other parties.
• are stored securely according Descartes data management polices.
• are subject to data retention policies agreed with the customer.
